Oral History Project

Chicago State Foundation’s Office of Alumni Affairs has partnered with Publishing Concepts (also known as PCI) to produce an Alumni Oral History Publication for Chicago State University. This year-long project interviewed nearly 4,000 alumni between June and December 2023, collecting stories and personal experiences from their time at Chicago Teachers College and Chicago State University. The result is this beautiful coffee table book, In My Words, featuing over 600 of those stories including images and historical accounts of time on campus through the years. 

Production of the final product is nearly complete. If you ordered the book when you were interviewed, your copy will be mailed to you this summer. A digital version of the book will also be avaialble, and we will begin sharing many stories and quotes later this year on social media.
